What is BIMSearch?
BIMSearch is a web app that acts as a viewer for any BIM model saved on the Autodesk BIM 360 or ACC platforms. With BIMSearch you can quickly search your model, highlight all elements of the same type, collate and save elements as selection sets, and compare them – all in a viewer of the model itself. Export the results of any search to Excel to share your data. For more information, see this post.
How does BIMSearch work?
BIMSearch connects to the Autodesk BIM 360 and ACC platforms, reads the data saved there, and presents it in the browser. The benefit of this is that BIMSearch doesn’t have to load the whole model, only the information that you need, and therefore works much faster. BIMSearch has a user-friendly interface that enables you to access the data from the BIM model without requiring advanced understanding of BIM 360, ACC or BIM modeling software.
Why do I need to sign in to Autodesk to access BIMSearch?
BIMSearch is integrated with Autodesk and works by connecting to your project saved on the Autodesk BIM 360 or ACC platforms. As such, you need to give Autodesk your permission to access your projects.
How do I access my projects?
Once signed up to BIMSearch, the hub administrator (the person who has access to the BIM 360 or ACC admin account) needs to set up BIMSearch via the Autodesk platform your models are saved on so that you can access your projects. BIMSearch is an Autodesk partner so this is a relatively quick and easy process. The instructions are here.
How do the payment and subscription processes work?
Once you have completed your 30 day free trial, you will need to subscribe to BIMSearch in order to continue using the app. To subscribe, head to the pricing page of our website and choose your subscription plan. When you press the “get started” or “talk to us” buttons, just fill in the contact form, selecting “payment/subscription” as the subject, and we will get back to you. For more information, including a step-by-step guide to the process, please see this blog post.
Do my projects stay private?
